How To Keep New Years Resolutions

Monday, November 26th, 2007

It’s almost the close of another year, and like everyone else, there are probably a few things you’d like to do differently in the New Year. Ok, maybe there are a LOT of things you would like to do differently, but January 1st is a fresh start, so why not take the clichéd idea of a New Years Resolutions seriously this year? Don’t follow my example, which is to half heartedly make resolutions I will never keep.

The first (and hardest) step is coming up with actual resolutions. This will mean admitting you are not perfect. Beware.

Be specific with your resolutions; don’t write down that you will try to be less lazy. Instead opt for a more active resolution like, “I will exercise more regularly,” or “I will read more.”

It’s also important not to chose goals that are too broad, because they might seem too big to take on when the New Year rolls around. Instead of just resolving to join a gym, which may be a waste of money if your time is limited, perhaps resolve to try easier weight loss solutions such as:

Who doesn’t need a vacation?

However, if you’re one to procrastinate, spontaneous by nature, or planning ahead for post season travel, there are many new online travel sites that can save you money and help you plan and organize your travel.

The following 4 web sites make traveling easier and cheaper. The travel sites we are recommending are based on sites we find useful, not on popularity.

Farecast predicts if fares on most domestic routes will go up or down. Enter your itinerary and Farecast will tell you if you should buy your ticket now or if a better fare is probably on the way. Getting Fit with the Net

Monday, November 12th, 2007

It seems as though everyone has the same excuse for not working out. “I don’t have enough time. I’m just too busy. I work too much.” However, now those are no longer valid excuses for not exercising, even though I will continually keep trying to use them. A majority of inactive people have a “desk job” where they are chained to their computer all day. Well guess what, the Internet is now making it easier than ever for you to get in shape! Oh joy….

Yes, you heard me right; there are tons of snazzy new Web 2.0 sites specifically designed to motivate you into the best shape of your life.

Take Traineo for example. It’s an easy to use site that gives you the motivation and support to reach both your weight loss and fitness goals. The best part is it’s completely free to sign up. The idea behind traineo is that you join for free and recruit four friends or family members to become your “traineo motivators”, who will receive weekly email updates on your progress towards your goals. The software is so simple to use, and allows you to chose what you’d like traineo to report to your motivators so they can give you the customized motivation, support, and accountability you need to achieve your goals. You will receive your own personal page and be granted access to other members in the traineo community. You can also keep track of your diet and the number of calories you burn at the gym.

File A Complaint Online

Monday, November 5th, 2007

There is no doubt, the ability to perform transactions online has made life so much simpler. Comparison shopping and delivery are now a piece of cake, and can be done from the comfort of your couch.

Unfortunately, sometimes sites are not always as honest and reliable as they claim to be. If you want to avoid falling victime to a scam, it’s important to be wary of new sites and offers that “seem too good to be true.” Anyone who knows me if well aware that I don’t take any crap. If I am at all dissatisfied with anything, I raise Hell, so to speak. Good thing there are places online where you can report these dishonest vendors.

If it does happen to you there are sites out there where you can tell your story and prevent others from getting scammed. So if you need a place to voice your frustration here are some of the site we recommend:
