Companies That Move - So You Don’t Have To

Consumer-Advocate.org - I Don't Do Heavy LiftingIf you live in a house, it’s not likely you’ll be moving very often. However, when you do finally get around to it, you know and I know it’s miserable… and taxing… and irritating and “Why are we moving again?” you ask. It’s such a pain, even though it is well worth a new place in the end. Lucky for you, I’ve found a few companies who make the task a lot less stressful - both on your lifestyle and your nails.

If you’re looking for reputable, you can’t get much better than BestMoversInc, which is a licensed and bonded moving company. The site offers a free moving quote for both local and long distance moves. A local move is within the state, and a long distance move is to another state. If you are too lazy to do it yourself, they offer packing services and even provide storage alternatives with up to one month free. They assign a moving manager to walk you through everything so you don’t have to worry about all your “stuff.” Lovely.

I have had many friends find success with MoversDirectory.com, which can locate a local mover near you. It’s an extremely extensive site that not only offers their services, but a fairly large collection of moving advice (from moving with kids to mover’s rights). They can even help you find someone to ship your car. Moving can be overwhelming and it’s difficult to think of everything. Take a stop here and read some sound advice. Moving is infinitely less stressful when you know what you are doing.

In order to prevent getting swindled, bamboozled, having the wool pulled over your eyes, or any of the aforementioned, look at MovingScam.com which can steer you clear of scams in the moving industry. Moving all of your personal belongings involves a lot of trust. You need to make sure you feel comfortable with the company, and the actual movers who will be in direct contact with, what is essentially, your material life. As a consumer, you have legal rights, and you need to make sure that you aren’t letting those rights be abused. Take a look at the site to ensure the safety of you and your family’s belongings.

Unless you want to drive your own Uhaul across the country, you’re going to need a mover. Just make sure they know what they are doing so you can sit back and supervise.

Moving is the biggest pain! My husband was in radio so we moved a lot, and had both some bad movers and some good movers over the years. I don’t see another move happening for us anytime soon, but you can bet I’ll be visiting these sites you suggest when the time comes. Thanks!

Nice article. This is especially relevant in todays society given the increase in crime levels particulary related to home thefts and break ins.
