File A Complaint Online
There is no doubt, the ability to perform transactions online has made life so much simpler. Comparison shopping and delivery are now a piece of cake, and can be done from the comfort of your couch.
Unfortunately, sometimes sites are not always as honest and reliable as they claim to be. If you want to avoid falling victime to a scam, it’s important to be wary of new sites and offers that “seem too good to be true.” Anyone who knows me if well aware that I don’t take any crap. If I am at all dissatisfied with anything, I raise Hell, so to speak. Good thing there are places online where you can report these dishonest vendors.
If it does happen to you there are sites out there where you can tell your story and prevent others from getting scammed. So if you need a place to voice your frustration here are some of the site we recommend:
Ripoff Report allows you to warn others of scams. You can post a report, or search through reports already posted if you are questioning a company. Filing a report is free and will be discovered by millions of consumers. It’s a good idea to post a complaint if you’ve been scammed because many law firms and law enforcement agencies utilize services such as Rip Off Report to aid in their investigations of business practices. By filing a report, your information may aid in pursing civil or criminal proceedings against corrupt organizations. It’s a good idea to search Rip Off Report before you do business with an unknown company, and avoid getting caught by bad return policies, checking and credit theft, rebate fraud and other unscrupulous business policies such as phony auto repairs, auto dealer bait-and-switch tactics, restaurants with bad service or food, corrupt government employees and politicians, police corruption, home builders, contractors, unethical doctors and lawyers, online stores that sell non-existent products, dead beat dads and moms, landlords and tenants, fraudulent employment and business opportunities, and individual con artists who scam consumers. Phew!
Another site where you can file a complaint is Better Business Bureau, which is a more formal means of filing a protest. They actively attempt to resolve complaints involving buyers and sellers in a fair and timely fashion. This includes complaints involving consumer-to-business and business-to-business transactions that involve the advertisement and/or sale of a product or service. Information concerning the nature and resolution of complaints filed with BBB is used in developing BBB Reliability Reports on companies. However, BBB accepts complaints whether or not the business is a BBB Accredited Business.
If those sites are a little too serious for you, then try Furocity.com, where you can vent about many topics, not just rip offs. Choose from people, media, companies, entertainment, government, politics, products, sports, and more. You can even add your own “peeve” and let the Furocity community know what bothers you. This is a great site for all of those people who need to get things off their chest.
No matter what site you use, it is important to share your experiences with others so that the companies are penalized for their wrong doings. If enough people see your warning, then the company will lose business. It’s easy to become a victim of a scam, but it’s even easier to complain about it!
